A SHORTAGE of medical staff at Nevill Hall Hospital is causing a reshuffle of patients.

It is reported that paediatric services in Monmouthshire will be affected in the week between Christmas and new year due to an inability to fill staff rotas.

It is thought that all babies under 36 weeks will be redirected from Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny, to the Royal Gwent in Newport, as will paediatric GP calls.

Emergency paediatric services will be maintained at both hospitals.

Normal service is expected to resume on 1st January.
