TWO Countrywide stores in Monmouthshire were broken into on Monday (24th October) night.

At around 7.20pm on Monday burglars reportedly gained access to Countrywide in Raglan by cutting the locks on the gates before smashing a glass door.

Thousands of pounds worth of items were taken from inside including hedge cutters, strimmers, power tools and clothing.

Later that night, between 9.20pm and 10.00pm, the Countrywide store in Abergavenny on Lower Monk Street was breached. A Beacon source claims the burglars used a vehicle to ram the shutters to gain access to the store.

Gwent Police confirmed damage was caused to the shutters on the premises, and that items similar to the Raglan store burglary were taken from inside.
