RAGLAN Rovers have applied to join a local Sunday League for next season and is inviting players to come to training sessions..

George Morgan, the new club’s chairman and secretary said there are plans to arrange friendlies ahead of the season beginning in August.

“We have a sponsor, The Ship Inn in Raglan, and we will play in the traditional purple shirts with black shorts and white socks,” he said.

“We hold training sessions at the ground at Station Road in Raglan on Wednesdays from 6pm and anyone aged 16 or over is welcome to come along.

“We have applied to join the Monmouthshire Building Society Newport and District Sunday League.

“Apparently, there is a lot of interest in playing football on Sundays because a lot of players like to watch or play rugby on Saturday,” George added.
