MONMOUTH AM Nick Ramsay is sending his best wishes to the 233 Welsh athletes representing Wales at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Among them are former Monmouth School pupil Lewis Oliva from Chepstow. Oliva has risen through the ranks of British Cycling's Olympic Development and Academy Programme and won his first medals at world cup level in the final round of the 2013/14 series, where he came home from Guadalajara with two bronze medals from the team sprint and the keirin. "Team Wales is made up of dedicated world class athletes who put in an enormous amount of effort to reach the top in their own particular sports," said Mr Ramsay. "It would be great if they could equal or better their previous medal tally of 19 from the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games – I look forward to following their progress and wish them every success."
