Demonstrating their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others, pupils at Monmouth Prep School have raised an incredible £925.05 for Crisis at Christmas.

Sporting Christmas jumpers and Santa hats, their charity raffle was a huge cause for excitement with over 50 delicious sweet treats, games and incredible hampers being won by the students.

The money raised by the school will mean that 31 people will be supported this Christmas. Crisis calculates that it costs just £29.73 to help someone experiencing homelessness over the Christmas period – with support in day centres, hotels or with their year-round services.

This year, Crisis is helping people facing homelessness by giving them access to: Hot meals and Christmas lunch; Help with a safe place to stay; Hotel accommodation for those most in need; long-term personal lead worker; Year-round support including training and education; dvice on housing, employment, welfare and benefits; Companionship from volunteers

Health and wellbeing programmes; Support to leave homelessness behind for good.

It is important to recognise that while the funds raised by students at Monmouth Prep School are a commendable achievement, they alone cannot solve the complex issue of homelessness across the UK. However, the contribution will undeniably go a long way in making Christmas a little brighter for 31 people in need.

In a heartfelt reminder to the students, it was emphasized that Crisis’s work extends beyond the festive period, aiming to help individuals embark on the journey out of homelessness and towards securing a place to call their own.

Join us in congratulating the Monmouth Prep School students, teachers and families at home for their wonderful donations to enable us to aid Crisis and their efforts once again.
