A GROUP of midwives are to take on the challenge of a lifetime next year when they cycle from London to Paris to raise £14,000.
The ‘Delivery Girls’ are a group of eight midwives raising money to fight breast, ovarian and cervical cancers.
Based in Monmouth, Abergavenny and further afield, the women will be taking part in the Action for Charity Women V Cancer London to Paris Bike Ride in September 2018.
The challenge is on to cycle approximately 240 miles in just three days, in a route taking cyclists through rolling English countryside and the breath-taking panorama of northern France to a spectacular finish at the Eiffel Tower.
The challenge aims to raise money for three womens’ charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action, with money raised to be distributed evenly between the three charities.
The group will be taking on a range of fundraising activities over the next year, in the hope to raise money for the challenge.
