Festival-goers from across Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire are expected to descend on Redbrook this weekend for its fourth annual music festival.
Organisers say more than 120 advance tickets have been sold so far and many more are expected to sell in the next couple of days.
Live on the Wye takes place from 3pm on Saturday 15th June in the heart of Redbrook village on the banks of the Wye River.
The event is run by a dedicated team of volunteers and all proceeds go to the Village Trust in support of community life. It is sponsored by the
Monmouthshire Beacon and Chepstow Beacon.
Festival chairman Howard Hancocks said: "We are genuinely excited about this year's festival and believe our fourth event will be our biggest and best to date.
"It's always a memorable occasion with the community turning out in force to raise funds for this good cause.
"There's something for everyone and we pride ourselves on being a family-friendly event."
Eclectic music line-up
Six bands will form the line-up for this year, ranging in style from jazz to rock 'n' roll.
Headline act The Hunters toured with The Hollies back in the '60s and are reforming four decades on especially for the occasion, promising punchy 60s rock.
Livestock Davies and the Lowdown Snakes are best known for Welsh rockabilly, playing Jonny Cash-style rock 'n' roll and sounds of the 50s.
There is jazz from Coltrane Dedication and music through the decades – from gentle ballads to rock classics – from The Good Times.
The Godseys hail from Penallt and the Forest of Dean and always attract a big local following, specialising in excellent Americana and Country Rock.
Lastly, there is Ruby Rose, a Monmouthshire band who joined the bill just last week and will open the festival at 3pm.
They describe their music as 'a vibrant fusion of jazz, funk and blues with an indie rock mentality'.
Locally sourced and family friendly
The vast majority of food and drink at the festival is locally sourced, from the gold award-winning sausages and burgers provided by Hancocks Butchers, to the acclaimed real ale supplied by Kingstone brewery – a microbrewery based in Tintern.
There is also a fully licensed bar and a local pork leg hog roast.
Ed Biggs, Kingstone Brewery owner, said: "We are delighted to be supporting this year's Live on the Wye festival and look forward to spending the day listening to some great bands and drinking a few refreshing ales."
Families are welcome and children will be kept busy with a bouncy castle, bungee run, face-painting, games and entertainment.
Ticket numbers are limited and advanced booking is recommended. Tickets cost £5 and are available now through Hancocks Butchers and the Beacon offices in Monmouth, and The Village Stores and The Bell in Redbrook.
Children can enter for free when accompanied by a paying adult. For more details visit http://www.liveon">www.liveon
