MONMOUTHSHIRE County Council is to engage with parents and carers of pupils with additional learning needs by holding open meetings in Caldicot, Usk and Raglan.

People present at last year's meetings, as well as those attending for the first time, will be warmly welcomed.

Meetings will be held in County Hall, Usk on Tuesday 23rd June from 10am-12pm, Caldicot's Dewstow Primary School on Tuesday 30th June from 6-8pm and Raglan Primary School on Thursday 2nd July from 6-8pm.

The council will seek the views of parents and carers on how services may be focussed so that pupils can achieve their full potential. It will structure these meetings so that those attending can fully express their views.

County councillor Liz Hacket Pain, cabinet member with responsibility for schools and learning said: "The views of parents and carers are important and will inform us how to offer this provision in the future.

"Our aim is that the children should be the beneficiaries of this programme of engagement.

"In response to a request made last year we are holding one of our meetings during the day to ensure as many people as possible are able to attend."
