CALDICOT Castle was filled with warmth and support as young people and families gathered for the annual Remembering Event, hosted by Monmouthshire County Council.

Since its inception in 2016, this event has provided a safe space for those who have experienced loss to connect with their emotions and share memories during what can be an incredibly difficult time.

The day included a variety of carefully planned creative activities designed to help families navigate their feelings of grief.

Personalised bauble making and decorating gingerbread men were among the activites on offer at the Remembering Event this year.

Attendees were encouraged to share their stories and. Experiences, leading to meaningful conversations and the forging of new friendships.

The event was supported by Monmouthshire County Council’s dedicated Children Services team, which includes trained councillors and numerous volunteers committed to helping families.

Cllr Ian Chandler, Monmouthshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Care, Safeguarding, and Accessible Health Services, said: “These can be difficult times for children and families who have lost loved ones.

“My thanks go to all the dedicated staff and volunteers who support young people throughout the year.

“If you are feeling vulnerable, our team will be here to help.”
