CHEPSTOW Cricket Club's under-13 side booked a place at next month's Welsh Cup Finals day in Cardiff, with a seven-wicket victory over Lisvane at the weekend.
Having beaten Cardiff and Newport in previous rounds, Chepstow under-13s continued their good form, dismissing Lisvane for 83 in an outstanding bowling and fielding display.
Harry Pinchard and Scott Williams took two wickets each with Ben Kellaway, Harry Sillence and Joe Truckel taking one apiece – Kellaway was also involved in three run-outs.
In reply, Chepstow's Ryan Scrivens made 33 before retiring because of injury, and Harry Taylor made 22 as they reached the target set for the loss of just three wickets in the 16th over.
Chepstow's under-13 side will join junior teams from multiple age groups across Wales to compete for the national trophy in their age group.
The Welsh Cup Finals day is scheduled for Monday 10th August and will be held at the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, the Swalec Stadium, in Cardiff.
