hepstow Town Under 14s manager Jason Thorne described his side's 4-1 victory over East Gwent Junior rivals Undy B as an 'outstanding' team performance.

Chepstow Town fell behind after an early strike from the away side after only two minutes of play, following a long ball over the top of the Chepstow defence.

The early goal sparked a Chepstow revival that was rewarded midway through the first half when the the home side equalised through striker Ben Thomas. The half-time whistle blew with the scores level at 1-1.

Chepstow slowly began to dominate possession in the second half and were soon rewarded with a strike from top scorer Harry Thorne, claiming his first and Chepstow's second.

The midfield duo of Reg Bynon and Harry Martyn proved to be too strong for the away side to handle, with the pair completely dominating the middle of the park.

Bynon and Martyn's link up play with fellow midfielders Ethan Dunscombe and Joe Hopkins would eventually prove too hot to handle and finally break down the resilient Undy barriers.

After a number of squandered chances from the home side, Harry Thorne finally put some daylight between the two sides with his second and third of the match, bringing his club goal tally to 13 for the season.

A man-of-the-match performance by club captain Harry Martyn, pictured right, was rewarded with his side's second win on the bounce to push them up to a respectable ninth position in the table.

The outstanding defensive line of Rhys Brooks, George McCarron, Lee Franklin and Ellis Roberts held a late Undy attack, but it proved to be too little too late as Chepstow ran out eventual 4-1 winners on home soil.
