MONMOUTH Town Youth Football hosted its 14th annual Youth and Junior Festival last weekend, with 222 teams and more than 2,000 children playing football over the two days, with teams coming from as far away as Liverpool.

The tournament was heralded as a great success with every player receiving a trophy.

With 12 pitches, and each match lasting 12 minutes, the day was a tremendous showcase for local talent, with parents and supporters helping with stewarding, car parking and providing burgers for the hungry players.
