SUDBROOK booked their place in the Gill Cup final with a 2-0 win over Severn Tunnel, but they must wait to learn their opponents after Underwood SC A's tie with Chepstow Town A was postponed due to the weather.
Having beaten Tunnel, and scoring 17 goals with no reply, in two previous meetings, Sudbrook were always favourites to win.
Goals from Zak Hitchens and Mike Price sealed the result but they will lose Mark O'Hara, who was sent off, for the final matches in their promotion push.
Despite the loss, Tunnel boss Steve Duddridge sprang to O'Hara's defence.
"I think the decision should be looked at and hopefully, it will be rescinded," he said.
"We should have led early on but we missed two good chances but they were few and far between and midfielders dominated.
"Our keeper dropped the ball under pressure from players from both sides and Hitchens capitalised to put Sudbrook ahead and the second half was largely forgettable until Price sealed it when he slammed home the rebound after our keeper parried a free-kick.
"We showed far more fight and determination than our last visit to Mill Lane and I can take some positives from the game."
Mathern FC A moved back into second place in Division 1 with a 7-2 victory at Thornwell Red and White.
"It was a very good win after going 2-0 down in the first 10 minutes," said manager Lee Baker
"We showed great character to come back and win. We played with the ball on the deck and controlled the game scoring some good goals.
"It was nice to see Harry Ward score a hat-trick and it was a very good team performance.
"But I also want to say thanks for great performances from Alex Watson who was my Man of the Match, Rich Rees, Ward and Rob Wood."
Rees, Wayne Duffield (2) and Liam Matthews scored the other goals.
In the other match in Division 1 Chepstow Athletic lost 8-4 at home to Undy Athletic.
