Three boys from Monmouth have received their Pontypool and District U11s School Caps at an awards ceremony at Pontypool United RFC.

Teddy Smith-Milne and Liam Evans (both aged 11) from The Grange and Max Rees (aged 10) from Osbaston CIW School were presented with their caps by Wales and British Lions legend, Mr Graham Price MBE.

The awards marked the end of an excellent season of rugby which saw the boys playing in the DC Thomas Cup Final at the Principality Stadium, losing narrowly to Cynon Valley Schools by four tries to three. This was Teddy’s second appearance in the final having been a member of the victorious Pontypool Schools side that defeated Llwchwr Schools the previous year.

The boys completed the season by joining a 36 strong, end of season tour squad to Italy, where they played in the Venice/Paese RFC Tournament along with teams from 15 Italians clubs.
