Chepstow Cricket Club's match against Abergavenny was evenly poised when rain set in and it had to be abandoned.
Chepstow won the toss and decided to bat first but must have doubted that decision as Malith Madurasinghe was caught by Holley off the bowling of Ali Bukhari for a golden duck.
Bukhari also saw off Jamie Rayner for just four runs and Chepstow were in trouble at 7-2.
Former Monmouth man David Teague (15) and Jason Dobbie (10) steadied the ship before Nick Folland hit 49 off 94 balls to boost the total.
Wicketkeeper Zak Watson was dismissed for the second duck of the innings after Mitchell Harris made 11 but the lower order hung around to give Folland some support.
Luke Watson scored 17 from 37 balls before Tuhin Gavand (9 not out from 32) and James Bostock (17 not out from 21) saw Chepstow to 160-8 from their 50 overs.
For Abergavenny, Bukhari took 4-25, Will Ford 2-30 and there was a wicket for James Hrastelj.
Chepstow made an encouraging start in the field with Rhodri Fawsitt dismissing James Schofield for 2 and Richie Roberts for 3 to leave Abergavenny on 29-2.
Luke Watson and Harris picked up a wicket each and Abergavenny were left stranded on 85-4 when the heavens opened.
Chepstow travel to Monmouth this Sunday for a Gwalia Welsh Cup game starting at 1.30pm at the Sports Ground.
