KENNY Vidler struck three times to set up a 7-0 victory at Caldicot Castle A as Mathern FC A returned to winning ways.
Wayne Duffield scored twice with Jack Stewart and Harry Ward adding the others to keep them second in Division 1.
Leaders Sudbrook CC's match at Thornwell Red & White was postponed and with Underwood and Severn Tunnel in Amateur Cup action, Undy won 2-1 at home to Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Town A thrashed Chepstow Athletic 9-1.
In Division 2, Chepstow Town B returned to the top with a 5-1 home defeat of fellow title contenders Severn Tunnel B.
Injured Town striker Paul Light took over managerial duties for the match.
"Tunnel B were unbeaten until today," he said. "Sean Roberts scored a hat-trick and Matthew Earley added the others," he added.
"Our man of the match was Nick Owen for a quality performance in centre midfield."
Severn Tunnel's scorer was David Scanlon – his 28th in all competitions this season.
Severn Bridge completed a bad day for the club with a 4-1 win over Tunnel C thanks to goals from Richard Morgan, Dan Cole, Paul Trask and Craig Hunt.
Manager Dean White was delighted by the result.
"It keeps things very interesting at the top," he said. "Tunnel's keeper was in great form and the whole team battled for the whole game. We had to work hard to get the result."
Portskewett & Sudbrook hit Mathern B for six, Steve Lovell (2), Russell Griffiths, Chris Commins, Simon Babb hitting the target, plus they were helped by an own goal.
Matthew Webb put Mathern on the scoresheet in a match which boss Gary Burchill, described as one in which his team came "a poor second".
In the other games played in the division, Caldicot Town beat Caldicot Castle B 5-3 and Sudbrook CC B beat Tintern Abbey B 4-2 – with a little help from their friends.
"Our first team's match was postponed so a few of the players helped us out," explained manager Gary Vaughan.
B team regulars Joel Williams and Tom Mclaren set the team on the road to victory and Keenan Perrett and Daryl Cann secured the three points.
