DIVISION 1 leaders Sudbrook CC opened a two point lead at the top of Division 1 with an 8-0 win at Chepstow Athletic.
Undy Athletic, in third place before kick-off, dropped to fourth after a 3-2 defeat at Tintern Abbey and Underwood replaced them by winning 4-0 at Chepstow Town A.
Sudbrook's goals came from Zak Hitchens, Rob Thorn, Richard Lund, Tom Stuart, Mark O'Hara and Oli Mottram.
Abbey's victory was all the more memorable because of a goal which, according to assistant manager Don Howells, was reminiscent of Paul Gascoigne's against Scotland at the 1996 European Championships.
Undy led 2-0 before Geraint Reynolds hit his 29th goal of the season and Richard Stevens scored the equaliser.
Step forward 17-year-old Jordan Griffiths who settled the tie with a spectacular right foot flick over a defender before lashing a left foot volley into the net.
"At half time we looked dead and buried and a few choice words were exchanged," admitted Howells.
"But all credit to the players, they showed tremendous character in the second half to battle back against a very good Undy team.
"The winning goal was special – shades of Paul Gascoigne all those years ago!"
Severn Tunnel and Abbey occupy the next two places, with Tunnel ahead on goal difference.
The only other match in the division, between Castle A and Thornwell, was postponed.
In Division 2, leaders Chepstow Town B's fixture at Mathern B was postponed because the pitch was ruled unfit, so second, third and fourth-placed teams took the opportunity to apply the pressure.
Severn Tunnel B, 4-0 winners at Castle B, Underwood who thra-shed Portskewett & Sudbrook 10-1 and Severn Bridge, 9-2 winners at Sudbrook CC B, all narrowed the gap to just one point.
Tunnel's manager Jon Abram was pleased with the victory,
"It was a great professional display from my boys on a small pitch. They taught a good footballing side, a footballing lesson," he said.
"Attitudes were on point and we got back to business. A superb hat trick from David Scanlon and a great strike from Matthew Addis secured the points."
Tunnel B stay second with a goal difference of 30, Underwood B are still third with 28 ahead of Severn Bridge with 21.
Tintern Abbey B won 6-0 at Severn Tunnel B and jump up to fifth place.
