SUDBROOK Girls FC are keen to hear from any girls interested in playing football.

The club, which train every Saturday from 10am-11am, has recently joined South Wales Girls League in the under seven and under nine age groups and will soon be hosting matches.

Formed a year ago, the club has gone from strength to strength and regularly have 20 or more girls attending.

One of the organisers, Craig Carter explained that, unlike boys’ football, the girls host all the matches at one venue on one match day.

“Our girls never really had a chance to play with boys of the same age so we thought it would be good to start a girls team and it has proved very popular.

“If any girl would like to train with us, they are welcome to come to Sudbrook Cricket Club on Saturday mornings.”
