Gwent County League Division Three - Sudbrook CC 1 Tranch 1
SUDBROOK CC drew 1-1 at home to Tranch but they may be forced to play some of the remaining fixtures away from Mill Lane.
Part of their pitch overlaps the club’s cricket pitch and the barriers and posts, which must be in place for Gwent County League matches, will need to be removed in time for the new season.
Sudbrook CC’s first home match in the Glamorgan and Monmouthshire Cricket League’s Division One is due on 14th May and although the football season will be over by then, the need for practise matches before then could mean the football team will be forced to play their home matches on the 3G pitch at Caldicot Leisure Centre.
“It’s going to be a nightmare for us near the end of the season,” admitted Sudbrook manager Daryl Cann.
“We will probably end up on the 3G to be honest,” he added.
“Saturday’s game should probably have been called off but we need to get the games in now to make up for lost time.
“It was a really sloppy game as you can imagine with the weather like it was. Rob Thorn scored our goal, Tranch had one chance and took it while we had numerous chances but could only convert the one.”
