SEVERN Bridge player Chris Hooper has described his disappointment after the team resigned from the East Gwent Senior League’s Division One last week.
“I’m absolutely gutted that it’s come to an end,” he said.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my two-and-a-bit seasons with the lads.
“We’ve had some fantastic players in our side and even strengthened the side for this season but it just hasn’t worked out and sadly, it’s come to the end.”
Severn Bridge were tipped to have a good season at the start of the season but after drawing 1-1 at home to Caldicot Town in their first match, they suffered a number of heavy defeats, losing 8-1 at Tintern Abbey, 8-2 at Caldicot Town and 9-4 at home to Undy Athletic.
“I wish the lads all the best wherever they end up playing.
“I’ve had a few offers which is great. I’m thinking which is best for me at the moment but I will definitely be back playing soon.”
