CALDICOT Town Ladies FC have a number of friendlies lined up in preparation for their first season in the Welsh Premier League.

Manager Luke Harris has arranged seven matches with all but one to be played at home as he plans for the league season opener on 3rd September.

“I can’t wait for the friendlies to start now,” Harris said.

“We’ve trained really hard for the last four weeks and everyone is looking really sharp so we should go into the games at a very high tempo.

“I’ve picked teams I know are good and that we haven’t played before.

“Buckland from Devon, AEK BOCO from Bristol and everyone knows Cheltenham Town who should be a massive test for us and a great experience.

“I will be working on a number of things pre-season like styles of play and formations to make sure we have it all nailed from that first Premier League game at home to Rhyl on 3rd September.

“We’ve signed four new players to strengthen the squad and hopefully we will get one more in before the friendlies start.”

The friendly matches are: 30th July Buckland Athletic (H); 6th August AEK BOCO (H); 8th August Cheltenham Town (H); 13th August Briton Ferry (H); 17th August Cwmbran Celtic (A) and 20th August Rhiwbina (H).
