MONMOUTH Town Juniors under eight and under nine age groups held their end of season awards on Saturday Morning in the sunshine on Chippenham Fields.
Coaches Mark Thorpe and Jonty Wright congratulated the teams on a hugely successful season and presented a number of awards to recognise achievements during the year.
In the under eight age group awards went to Luke Peters and Hannah Bastow-Hale (Coach’s Players), Aston Morgan (Fans’ Player) and Else Wright (Players’ Player).
In the under nine age group awards went to George Gouldingay (Players’ Player), Harley Thorpe (Coach’s Player), Lenny Wright (Team Player), Adam Hawkins (Most Improved Player), Keiran Rees (New Player) and Joe Porter (Fans’ Player). A team of rising stars - Harry Dawes, William Kelsall, William Frost, Harry Guerin, Mathew Macsen Jones and Finn Pardington were also recognised for their effort, teamwork, attitude and improvement both in training and in matches throughout the season. The final award went to Kian Davies (Future International Superstar) who leaves Monmouth Town Juniors to train with Cardiff City next Season. The team wish Kian good luck and will be looking out for him at EURO 2024.
Monmouth Town Juniors now take a summer break before training starts again at the end of August on Chippenham Fields. Anyone inspired by France 2016 is welcome to join. All are welcome, however the club are particularly looking for new players in next seasons under six and under nine age groups. Age group contacts can be found at monmouthtownjfc.co.uk
