CHAIRMAN Martin Newell will be throwing his hat into the ring for another term at Monmouth Cricket Club.

The all-rounder plans to stand for re-election at the club's annual general meeting on Wednesday 26th November at Monmouth Rugby Club, starting at 7.30pm.

Due to work commitments, Ian Morgan will be standing down as vice-chairman and as the club's long-standing press officer.

Next season, Monmouth are running two seniors sides on a Saturday in the Thomas, Carroll Glamorgan and Monmouthshire League Division Three.

The club are withdrawing from the GB Liners Marches Sunday League after two seasons and will be seeking to arrange a series of Sunday friendlies against local opposition.

Monmouth will be running junior age-group teams at under-9, under-11, under-13 and under-15 as well as a girls' side.
