THE Chepstow six-a-side season came to an end for the Chepstow league earlier this month, with the ever-dangerous Samba Boys outfit claiming another title, seeing off nearest rivals, De Gea Boys.

In further good news for the team, Samba Boys' defender Rory Garey is the new skipper of the Wales Minifootball team.

Rory, who hails from Chepstow, is an experienced member of the Wales squad and was ever present during their first European 6 a side Championships campaign in Crete last year.

The new Wales coaching staff of Barry John and Colin Jones have now decided to make Rory squad captain.

The UK Minifootball Association National Teams Director Pete Mitchell was fulsome in his praise for the new captain and said he was a worthy choice:

"Everyone has been impressed with Rory, his leadership skills were evident in Rethmynon and he has continued to fulfil a vital role in the squad. "His conduct both on and off the pitch is exemplary and we are sure he will be a great squad captain."

The final Wales team will be selected prior to the departure to Montenegro for the championships which take place between 26th-30th November.
