WHILE only a handful of games remain for all the teams, there is still much to play for in the East Gwent Senior League Division Two with three teams up for the title.
Severn Bridge are in the driving seat with one game left to play after winning 3-1 at Caldicot Castle B at the weekend.
Bridge visit Severn Tunnel B on Saturday in a must-win clash after goals from Harry Jackson and Steve Jones (2) put them on 46 points from 19 games.
Second-place Underwood B won 7-0 at home to Tintern Abbey B with Joey Leighton (3), Sam Leighton (2), Mitch Donovan and Kieron Gettings scoring.
Underwood have 45 points from 18 games. They have two games left, at home to Chepstow Town B on Saturday and home to Mathern FC B on 25th April.
Their manager Craig Johnson recognises the importance of winning silverware to a club that has won so much in recent seasons.
"My players played well and did what was asked of them against Tintern," he said.
"It was disappointing losing Jamie Richardson in the first five minutes to a bad head injury but we are another step closer to the league title with only two big games left."
Mathern B beat Sudbrook B 4-2 thanks to a Wayne Duffield hat-trick and one from Rob Wood with Keenan Perrett and Oli Mottram replying.
