SIR, I must point out that with the latest round of grants from Monmouthshire County Council for upgrading children's play areas and improving the community halls, once again the Wyesham area gets nothing at all. As seen before, all the monies go to Abergavenny and the Chepstow areas. Is Wyesham being discriminated against, especially the Tudor Road play area plus the Wyesham Community Hall? The children in this part of the village have had to use two sets of small swings and one slide for the last five to 10 years, this is in spite of our County Councillor Liz Hacket Pain uttering on numerous occasions that some monies are there for improvements but, to be fair to her I must add, she has never mentioned where this money would be spent. It is certainly not being spent on the Wyesham area. The same applies to the Wyesham Community Hall, which is only being kept open by a small band of people. If it wasn't for my family business doing all the repairs to the hall, the hall would have shut years ago. I have not had the honour to welcome any Wyesham councillors to the hall, for them to even enquire whether or not we need any financial assistance or to discuss with us all the work that is needed to be done. Perhaps I should offer them a road map to find Wyesham and the Wyesham Hall. Rockfield is having their hall fully made over with money provided by the builders of the houses on the Rockfield area, great news for them but, what has happened to the money from the builders of homes in the Wyesham area, Old School Rise, has it been spent elsewhere or is it lying in an account ready to be lavished on Wyesham? I feel that the amount of money that is being spent on per head of population in Wyesham makes this area one of the most under-funded places in all of Monmouthshire and that it is time for our councillors to step up to the plate to help Wyesham, after all, is this not the reason why they were voted in?
