MADAM I, as the owner and founder of the Violette Szabo GC Museum at Wormelow, Herefordshire was appalled and devastated to be told on Thursday 2nd July by her daughter Tania, that her mother's George Cross and other medals are to be sold at auction on Wednesday 22nd July 2015 at The Washington Mayfair Hotel 5, Curzin Street, London. So very, very little time! What Violette needs desperately is a wealthy benefactor, who would buy the medals in her name and memory and donate them to her own museum, which is where people from all over the world visit to honour and pay their own respects to her wonderful and very live memory. Violette's soul and spirit continues to thrive and prosper in this corner of Herefordshire – RIP Violette. An account to launch a fund raising appeal for the purchase of the medals has been opened at Lloyd's Bank. The sort code is 309414 and the account number is 00542564. Rosemary Rigby MBE (Wormelow)
