A MAN has appeared in court charged with causing death by dangerous driving and three counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Darren Glyn Williams of Valentine Way, Chepstow appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday (15th January).

On 7th September 2014, Williams allegedly caused the death of 79-year-old Beryl Ellis on the A466 north of Tintern.

Mrs Ellis from Wyesham, Monmouth, was travelling in the back of a Ford Fiesta and died at the scene. Three other occupants of the vehicle suffered leg and neck injuries.

Williams, driving an Opel Manta, also suffered life-threatening injuries.

He was released on unconditional bail.
