MONMOUTHSHIRE County Council Fostering Team will be taking time out to raise awareness of Fostering by going the extra mile during Fostering Fortnight between Monday 17th May and Friday 27th May.
Staff from the team will be walking through the four towns accompanied by foster carers, to raise awareness of fostering.
Members of the public are encouraged to stop and talk to the team to find out more about Fostering and the difference it can make to children and young people.
Walks are taking place Tuesday 17th 11.00am Abergavenny from Merthyr road, Abergavenny, Thursday 19th 11.00am Monnow Bridge Monmouth, Thursday 26th May 11.00am Cenotaph Chepstow and Friday 27th May 10.00am Caldicot Castle.
Fostering Fortnight is a National campaign which aims to encourage more people to think about the difference they could make by fostering.
Cllr Geoff Burrows Cabinet Member for Social Care, Safeguarding and Health said: “Fostering Fortnight is a fantastic campaign which is much needed to raise awareness of our unsung heroes, our foster carers, they continuously go the extra mile.”
