MONMOUTH AM Nick Ramsay recently joined a packed congregation at Newport Cathedral for a moving service of ordination.

 Friends and colleagues of Monmouthshire County Council’s Deputy Leader, Bob Greenland, witnessed his ordination, which was followed by a reception at Bob’s home, New Model Farm in Wolvesnewton.

The Reverend Greenland is now licensed to minister across the Usk group of parishes.

Speaking after the service, Mr Ramsay said: “I’ve known Bob for a long time and am delighted that God has called him to serve his community in this way.

“The path he has chosen is not an easy one, with many challenges both personal and spiritual lying ahead but I know that Bob’s personality and experience means that he is ideally suited to his new role and that he can count on family and friends to support him as he supports others.”
