AN evening with the heroes of rugby raised £5,250 for the Monmouthshire and District National Eisteddfod.

More than 100 people flocked to the Glen-yr-Afon House Hotel, Usk on Thursday 19th November for a three-course dinner and a chance to meet and greet rugby legends Eddie Butler, Gerald Davies, Joe Lydon, Bryn Meredith and Rupert Moon.

Eddie Butler hosted a question and answer session for guests at the evening and gave a talk on all things rugby.

An auction was held with some fantastic prizes, including a week’s stay for seven in a Portuguese villa!

More events are being held to raise money for the Eisteddfod which takes place in 2016, these include: a shopping trip to London and a visit to Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland.

Tickets are now being sold to win a brand new Peugeot 108 provided by Keith Price garages.
