The annual Raglan Day carnival parade saw a host of colourful and creative entries making their way through the village.

They included Rocky the festival mascot, Upbeat Music Samba Band, the Festival King and Queen (Oliver Lewis and Abi Jones) driven in a Triumph Herald convertible (presented by Alan Morgan), an amazing float created by Raglan W. I, the Millennium Chimes bell ringers and Puddleducks Nursery walking groups plus many individuals in fancy dress.

Best Presented float went to the Triumph Herald; Most Humorous float: Raglan W.I; Best Presented Walking group: ’When I grow up’ by Llanarth Baby and Toddlers and Most Humorous Walking group: the Hungry Caterpillar by Raglan CiW Primary School.

The homecraft, floral art and horticulture produce show categories included both junior and adult sections with over 200 entries. Judging was by Angela Bassett Jones for homecraft and Trevor Phillips for horticulture. David Cornfield was awarded the AJB Townsend Cup as overall winner of the produce competition.

The Fun Day itself saw a myriad of local stalls, with something for everyone including Dreckly the Dragon, bouncy castles, go karts, stilt walkers, nerf gun competitions, a vintage tractor display and lots more. The dog show sponsored by Abbey Vets was also a great success!

To add to the festival atmosphere the fabulous Coda band, Juke from Monmouth Comprehensive and the Tenovus Choir performed on the main stage, along with a great acoustic set from Jonny Quick with Adrian Merrett as the fun-day host.

Colwyn Knight, Raglan Festival Chair said: "Raglan Day has been a great success bringing out the crowds again this year. The festival team would like to thank everyone for participating with true community spirit. There are too many people to mention, but we all deserve to be proud of what we achieved".
