MEASURES to implement the Welsh language costing a total of £58,000 have been approved by Monmouthshire County Council’s (MCC) Cabinet.

The 176 Welsh standards have been issued by the Welsh Government to councils and national parks all over Wales. The Welsh Government also has to comply with the standards.

The final standards were issued to all local authorities on 30th September this year.

A fine of £5,000 would be issued to MCC if it does not comply with implementing the Welsh standards.

MCC’s Cabinet approved the plans last Wednesday (2nd December).
