A BOWLS club has got the green light for a new concrete storage shed after its wooden store was invaded by rodents.
Members of Chepstow Bowls Club were frustrated by pests who burrowed their way into the store containing its mower and other equipment.
Club chairman Mark Handock told Monmouthshire Council planners: “The shed is old and rodents have access and have damaged some equipment.”
The council approved the application for the 6.10m-long shed, which will stretch back 2.13m and will be two metres tall, as well as a retaining wall to the side and rear.
The shed will be located between the bowling green and the parking area on Mathern Road.

A cherry tree and saplings will also be planted, and a “hedgehog hotel” created to meet biodiversity enhancement requirements.
