PARENTS across Monmouthshire now have the option to split parental leave.

The Shared Parental Leave Policy not only provides a legal entitlement for parents to split leave when they have a new child but it also places a duty on employers to ensure parents are not penalised for exercising this entitlement.

The policy applies to children born or placed up for adoption on or after Sunday 5th April 2015.

Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) met last Wednesday (15th April) to rubber stamp the plans.
