RESIDENTS are being urged to cast their votes on Thursday, 7th May.
The county's 89 polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. Chief Executive Paul Matthews, who is also the county's acting returning officer, said: "Your polling station will be printed on the polling card that was sent to you earlier this month, though if you have only recently registered you will receive your card shortly."
Residents who have chosen to vote by post should ensure they return their voting papers in the envelope provided to the council's electoral staff before polling day to ensure their votes are counted.
Most of Monmouthshire's residents will vote for one of seven candidates in the Monmouth constituency. Residents living in Caldicot, Rogiet, Magor and Undy will vote in the Newport East constituency and electoral arrangements for these areas are administered by Newport City Council.
Paul Matthews added: "Monmouthshire County Council is committed to the democratic process so we're urging people to cast their votes. Casting your vote is a simple and swift procedure that will allow you a say on a whole range of issues that affect people's everyday lives."
