A driver and his passenger from Undy have been remanded into police custody following a stop and search in the Caldicot area.
Gwent Police’s Roads Policing Officers believed a car was being driven by a disqualified driver and stopped the vehicle with a stinger.
The initial search identified the driver as the disqualified driver they were after. He also did not have insurance to drive the vehicle and were found in possession of a lock knife.
However, a further search of the vehicle and the passenger uncovered numerous mobile phones, £400 in cash, a large quantity of Class A drugs (Cocaine) and small amount of Class B drugs (Cannabis). Both occupants were arrested for drug supply related offences.
A further search at the suspects home address uncovered more cash and more cocaine. The Class A drugs recovered had a street value of up to £7,000.
A 42 Year old male from Undy has been charged with: Possession with the intent to supply Class A - Cocaine; Possession with the intent to supply Class B - Cannabis; Possession of a bladed article; Driving while disqualified without insurance.
A 25 Year old female from Undy has been charged with: Possession with the intent to supply Class A - Cocaine; Possession with the intent to supply Class B - Cannabis
The incident was handed over to the Serious Organised Crime team, who conducted phone examinations, drug analysis & interviews. Following a thorough investigation, the Crown Prosecution Service was consulted for a charging decision.
They will appear before Newport Magistrates court on 29th of December 2025.
