A LEVY could be charged on new developments across Monmouthshire.
The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a new levy local authorities in England and Wales can choose to charge on new developments in the area.
The charge can apply to most new buildings with the scale of the charge depending on the size and type of the development.
The money can then be used to support the communities in their area.
Councillors agreed to further look into the levy with consultations set to take place at Monmouthshire County Council (MCC).
If MCC agrees to adopt the CIL, it is expected to be adopted in September this year.
