As a 90 year old local resident I would like to take an opportunity to pass on a huge thank you to our local emergency teams and hospitals.
In mid October last year I fell in my home and as a result suffered two breaks in my leg. The ambulance staff who arrived took such great care in looking after me and transferring me to Nevill Hall where I stayed for a couple of weeks. I was then transferred to Monnow Vale, Monmouth.
My experience as you can imagine was traumatic for someone of my age, but the doctors and staff at both hospitals were amazing. I was so well looked after, their care has certainly helped me to recover the way I have. I also want to thank those who brought in the lovely children for the craft afternoons, they really helped keep up the spirits as they jollied the patients along; the children were so well behaved and I formed a special bond with one as we made various items over my long stay in hospital.
It goes without saying that I owe a huge thank you to my family and friends who kept up the visits that brightened my days.
I am now home and raring to go again (although my family keep telling me to slow down!) so thanks again to all those who made this possible.
