UNDY twins Emily and Olivia Andrews, who have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, will have a fundraising ball held in their honour this year.

The Ups-a-Daisy Foundation was set up by the family of the five-year-olds who wanted to raise enough money to purchase two adaptable, light-weight wheelchairs and a hand held heart monitor, as the girls also have a heart condition.

This will be the second ball held for the girls with the first ball at the Celtic Manor raising more than £2,000.

The foundation also held a New Year's Eve party for the girls last month which raised more than £300.

Charlotte Andrews, Emily and Olivia's mum, said: "The girls both have wheelchairs provided on the NHS but the new wheelchairs we are looking at are adjustable which will help when the girls grow. They can also pick their own colours and the patterns to go on the wheels.

"The wheelchairs self-propel which also gives the girls a bit more freedom.

"The ball will be held at the Celtic Manor and will have live music, a three course meal, a raffle and an auction.

"We have been overwhelmed by the support received for the foundation."

Tickets for the event on Saturday 22nd May are priced at £40 and can be purchased by visiting the Ups-a-Daisy Foundation Facebook group.
