NEWPORT Gwent Dragons star Andy Powell has given the thumbs up to a charity muddy adventure run. The 6ft 4in powerhouse was put through his paces at the Chepstow Stampede course, where participants will look to conquer bogs, leg burning hills and waist deep water next month in aid of Kidney Research UK. The Stampede course at Chepstow Racecourse, taking place on Saturday 27th September, has been planned by military physical training instructors from Mojo Active. Entrants can choose to run a distance of 5k or 10k making the event suitable for both novices and the hardiest elite runners. Andy Powell said: "It was brilliant fun and really challenging. Participants have much to look forward to." Linda Rogers, events manager at Kidney Research UK, said: "Three million people in the UK are at risk of kidney disease, which doesn't have a cure. "Money raised through the Chepstow Stampede will allow us to continue to fund the best research into kidney disease, which can affect anyone." Entry to Stampede costs £26.50 per person, with a 10 per cent discount for teams of ten or more. Included in the price is medical support, training guidance, a free Kidney Research UK t-shirt, welcome pack and certificate. The first three finishers at each distance will receive a prize.
