THIRTEEN cars of treasure seekers braved the rain on Sunday (26th June) afternoon to take part in Raglan’s Raise the Roof Treasure Hunt, which raised £275 for the church roof fund.

The trail took participants up and down dale through country lanes, visiting four churches in search of 31 clues before reaching their final destination at The Fountain Inn at Trellech Grange.

Four teams successfully resolved all 31 clues and went head to head in a short quiz before last year’s winners again emerged victorious.

Organiser Robert Hughes thanked all those who had supported the event and also Steve and his staff at The Fountain Inn for providing an excellent light buffet. Committee member Nevill Crump thanked Robert and Mary for setting the clues.

Among the participants was Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay who added his congratulations to everyone involved. “It was highly successful and great fun,” he said.

The next Raise the Roof event will be a Flower Festival in St Cadoc’s Church from 29th July to 31st July.
