An accounts executive from Portskewett is in with a chance of being the next Miss Monmouthshire – and Miss Wales.

Hannah Baker, 22, is one of three young women who will represent the county in the Miss Wales final in April.

The team is also made up of Louisa Fletcher, a 17-year-old student, and 24-year-old make-up artist Paige Morris, both from Abergavenny.

In the run up to the final, the three women will be tasked with fundraising for the Miss World charity 'Beauty With A Purpose'.

The Miss World platform generates millions for good causes every year. All the money raised in Wales will be donated to Bobath Children's Therapy Centre for Wales, which supports children with cerebral palsy.

Paula Abbandonato, from Cardiff events and PR company Vibe, is the organiser of Miss Wales.

She said: "Every year we have an amazing line up of young women come together at Miss Wales.

"The girls who make up Team Monmouthshire for 2014 are equally exceptional. They are bright, ambitious and energetic and are coming together under the Miss Wales umbrella to have fun and make a difference.

"2014 will be our 10th anniversary of running Miss Wales. We have raised nearly half a million for good causes in that time and we hope that the finalists of 2014 will help us mark our anniversary in style."

Claire Brown from Bobath Cymru said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have the support of the Miss Wales competition.

"Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales provides specialist Bobath therapy to children from right across Wales who have cerebral palsy.

"This year we are celebrating our 21st birthday so we are thrilled that we have this support at such a key time.

"The support we will receive from Team Monmouthshire as well as the other regional teams will not only help raise the vital funds we need to run the centre, it will also help raise awareness of cerebral palsy and Bobath therapy right across Wales."
