INDEPENDENT television company Pi Productions is seeking Monmouthshire families or couples to star in a new prime-time Channel 5 documentary series capturing the journeys of those who are relocating to follow their dreams.
The company is run by John Silver, who created Grand Designs and reinvented MasterChef, and the documentary will focus on six ambitious people who are leaving a ‘9 to 5’ job to set up a lifestyle business.
Examples include running a smallholding or campsite, setting up a café or restaurant, or even opening a surf school or seaside boarding kennel.
Talitha Smith, from Pie Productions said:
“We are specifically looking for those moving to, or have just moved to, Monmouthshire.
“Research has found that people in Monmouthshire have the best quality of life out of all the rural Welsh counties, and the county has been rated Wales’ best place to live for five successive years.
“We hear people love the Black Mountains, the local produce, the beautiful diverse scenery, and of course the good transport connections.
“Lifestyle business owners are attracted to the area because of the tourism, to places such as Chepstow and Monmouth.
“We do feel that this is a brilliant opportunity for life changers to feature themselves and their new venture on their very own hour long prime time documentary, and inspire other people in the process.
“We are offering a finder’s fees of £250 for those individuals who find us a story which ends up in our series, and is broadcast.”
Filming is planned to take place over the coming summer for around four to five months.
