The Welsh Blood Donation Service collects, tests, processes and distributes blood to hospitals across Wales and relies on voluntary donors to maintain supplies.
Demand for blood donations has steadily risen over the past ten years as medical techniques become ever more sophisticated.
The service now needs to collect 480 units every day to supply the 19 Welsh hospitals.
At times this can be extremely challenging - with only three per cent of the population being regular donors.
The service needs all the help and support of the communities it attends to make collection days a success.
Chepstow Rugby Club is the venue for a blood donation clinic on 22nd February.
Anyone aged 17 to 66 who weighs over 7st 12lbs and is healthy and not subject to certain medical exclusions can donate, so please give it some thought.
