MADAM,
Following the successful campaign to save the Bus 65 from Monmouth to Chepstow, which was threatened to be withdrawn at the end of July by Monmouthshire County Council, I would like to thank EVERYONE who supported the cause by signing petitions and contacting local Councillors and MCC officers. The overwhelming backing for the route has secured the service.
Thank you to the customers of Envee, Cafe Nero, Harts, Hair by Jones and Raft who signed the petition. Locally the shops at Devauden and Trellech together with The Lion, Inn at Penallt and The Carpenters Arms all collected signatures. The Hospital, Bridges Community Centre, members of The Rolls Golf Club and Penallt Tennis Club also added their support. Councillors Debby Blakebrough and Richard John and residents along the route have all worked hard to save this most vital link for the rural communities.
Having saved this service it is now imperative to promote, develop and continue using the bus. It MUST NOT come under threat again.
Thank you all again.
See you on Bus 65.
Rosemary Corcoran
(Trellech)
