THE husband of a Chepstow woman killed in Llanishen on Saturday (19th March) has spoken out about his loss.

50-year-old Karen Lewis was killed on the B4293 at around 11.45pm on Saturday evening (19th March).

Her husband, Peter Lewis, has said in a statement: “She was a kind, caring, sweet person adored by many who came into contact with her, but more so by me.

“She was my special ‘K’(my nickname for her) and I was proud to have been married to such a lovely beautiful person and have 14 great years.

“I will sadly miss you my darling and we will meet again. Rest in peace Karen. You will be remembered by all family and friends from Double Diamond Dog Grooming.

“She will be sadly missed by many but especially family and I would like to thank all those that have given their condolences.”

Gwent Police is still appealing for information following the collision.

Double Diamond Dog Grooming regular, Cerys Hollings, commented on social media yesterday: “Still hasn't sunk in your actually gone... I was heartbroken and I just couldn't believe it, I don't know why it happened to you!

“You’re such a lovely lady and I loved coming down to help out and I’m going to miss you so much you'll forever be in my thoughts Karen xxxx”

A 46 year old man from the Monmouthshire area has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. He is currently on police bail pending further enquiries.
