MONMOUTH Tri Club has organised an Aquathon on the day of this year's Monmouth Carnival – Sunday 26th July.
The event sees competitors either swim part of the River Wye and then run alongside it.
This year will see the second running of the event after a successful 2014 edition.
The course will involve a number of options and it is open to teams of two wanting to complete the course as a relay.
Open to anyone 17 years old and over, the Aquathon involves either a 2km or 1km swim followed by a 12km run upstream to the Biblins Activity Centre. The longer swim involves a 500m stretch upstream followed by 1.5km downstream while the shorter route only runs with the river.
There is also the option to just do the run which is largely off-road along the scenic Wye Valley.
Entry costs £23 for a solo competitor or £26 for a relay. This includes the £3 Welsh Triathlon Day Licence which is waived for existing members.
Wetsuits are required for those entering the river and there will be full chip timing.
