SIX members of the Monross Trailblazers ran in Trail Marathon Wales last weekend.

The Salomon Trail Marathon Wales is held over a 26.2 mile race route on the stunning trails and tracks of the world-renowned Coed y Brenin forest in the Snowdonia National Park.

The dramatic route adds more than 3,400 feet of ascent to the 26.2 mile course, presenting a real test of endurance for the 340 athletes who ran the full marathon.

The team had a great weekend with Andrew Stephens finishing in fourth place and a personal best time of 3 hours, 14 minutes.

Barry Davies finished in 34th – 3:51 (also a PB); Luke James in 83rd – 4:11; Matthew Hall 102nd – 4:22; James Fletcher 176th – 4 hours 50 and Gavin Jones 192nd – 4:56.

They will be hoping for a quick recovery with their next race in the Herefordshire Cross Country League taking place today (Wednesday 24th June).
