HALLAM Amos has been announced as one of the 47 names and 22 backs in Wales' World Cup training squad.
The versatile back plays for Newport Gwent Dragons and is clearly in Warren Gatland's thoughts for the future as he was awarded a national dual contract, with both the Dragons and the Welsh Rugby Union, late last year.
He was also in the 2015 6 Nations squad, and for the 2014 Autumn International Series and has a full international cap to his name.
The Old Monmothian will hope his versatility – he can play at full back or on the wing – will get him into the final World Cup squad, especially since the competition is being played at home.
Head coach Warren Gatland said: "As a coaching team we are extremely happy with the blend of the squad in terms of the experience we are able to include as well as the young talent that has really impressed us.
"The easy part for the players has been done in terms of being selected, the hard work will begin from day one with a huge schedule of preparation ahead of them.
"The players will face a tough couple of months of intensive training, we will be taking them to Switzerland, Qatar and Poland and I can assure everyone they are no holiday camps.
"We put a lot of emphasis on conditioning and preparation in 2011 which worked well for us and we are looking to step that up again this time.
"The 47 players all have the opportunity to make that 31-man party and I'm sure they will all be eager to feature in a World Cup on these shores.
"We believe the longer we are together the better we perform and this summer of preparation will give us every opportunity to be at our best come Rugby World Cup."
Hallam will meet up with the squad for initial conditioning training at the WRU National Centre of Excellence on or before Monday 15th June – each member of the squad has been given different report-in dates depending on when their club's season ended.
They will then embark on the first of three intensive training camps in Switzerland from 1st-15th July. The players will then head to Doha on 20th July for further training for nine days.
The squad will play in the first Dove Men Test against Ireland at the Millennium Stadium, on Saturday 8th August, followed by further training and the reverse warm-up fixture in Dublin on Saturday 29th August.
Wales play two of their four World Cup games at the Millennium Stadium – against Uruguay and Fiji – with the other two games played at Twickenham against England and Australia.
Wales' opening game will be against Uruguay in Cardiff on Sunday 20th September.
